The Story

Malvado Leather Co. is back after being put on hold for a few years. Making the move from California to Arizona, new career, new additions to the family and every day life took priority. However, my wife urging me to get back into the craft has put the Relanuch of Malvado Leather into swing.

Malvado Leather Co. prides itself on producing quality hand crafted leather goods. From start to finish each item is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in the U.S.A. Only hand tools are used to make goods, no machines or other power tools here!

Malvado Leather Co. was started back in 2013, out of respect, love, and admiration for old fashioned traditional handmade goods. Handmade seems to be a thing of the past. We should all have something to pass down from generation to generation if not for the practicality, than for the love of it.

My name is Israel Garcia, I am the owner and operator of Malvado Leather Co. I was born and raised in Escondido, California and currently reside and operate in Waddell, Arizona.

The main inspiration for my leather work stems from my grandfather the late Sergio Garcia of Ojuelos Jalisco Mexico. He was a tailor by trade and ran his own business out of my fathers childhood home. My grandfather was as old fashioned as they come. Cowboy hat, boots, button up shirt, jeans and a handkerchief in his pocket to wipe away sweat. I do leather craft in honor of my family; past, present, and future. To accomplish what my grandfather did in Mexico here in the great U.S. of A. Keeping some of the traditional feel that you find in old Mexico and incorporating the Spanish language in my product names. Each item is handcrafted, every cut, stitch, and snap/rivet is done by hand with help from only hand tools. I hope my grandfather would be proud.
